About us

Hope Community Church was founded on the beliefs that God releases His power through His Word, His Spirit, and His People, as they love Him and each other; and that no one is beyond the possibility and hope of God’s power to change.

We gathered for worship the first time on September 9, 2012.

Romans 15:4 & 13 are our community’s theme verses that express our hopeful hearts:
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope… May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (NIV84)

Four Foundational Focuses guide us:

  1. Worship rooted in and arising from God’s story as He revealed it to us in His Word, the Bible.

  2. Transformation: Responding to God’s Word, God’s Spirit and God’s People so that we are progressively and continually being changed towards godliness and living lives that please Jesus

  3. Community: Our goal and desire is for our relationships, how we function together in community, to be increasingly reflecting the God-community of Father, Son and Spirit that our Triune God has called us to join.

  4. Mission: 3-aspects

    1. Becoming transformed by God’s Word and His Sprit;

    2. Living together in Triune God-like loving community; and together

    3. Embracing Jesus’ disciple making mission by functioning as His ambassadors who are wisely making the most of opportunities with “outsiders” (Colossians 4:5-6).

We believe Prayer makes a difference

– 2 Corinthians 1:8-11  We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.
