About Us
About us
In pursuit of bringing glory to our relational Triune God
Four Foundational Focuses guide our community:
1. Worship rooted in and arising from God’s story as He revealed it to us in His Word, the Bible and patterned after the 1st church.
...they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship [sharing], to the breaking of bread and the prayers. (Acts 2:42) You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many. (2 Corinthians 1:11 ESV)
2. Transformation - Responding to God’s Word, God’s Spirit, and God’s People so that we are progressively being changed towards Christ-likeness and living lives that please Jesus
...be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2)
3. Community - that our relationships, how we function together in community, increasingly reflect the Father-Son-Spirit relational love community-family that our Triune God has adopted us into.
...let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (Heb 10:24-25)
4. Mission - making disciples: wisely making the most of opportunities with “outsiders” and encouraging fellow followers of Jesus towards maturity, love, and good deeds.
...so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. (Titus 3:8)
Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. (Col 4:5-6 NIV84)
History - Hope Community Church gathered for worship for the first time on September 9, 2012. We are an independent non-denominational church founded on the beliefs that God releases His power through His Word, His Spirit, and His People, as they love Him and each other; and that no one is beyond the possibility and hope of God’s power to change.
